I just got engaged last weekend, and we’re going to start looking for venues to host our ceremony and reception for October of next year. I’m a little nervous of the money that will be spent on the venue and food for everyone, but we know our budget, we know we’ll be able to save double what our budget is before next September, and I’m not feeling any pressure yet. I know it’s super early still for us, so I was just wondering when the wedding planning really started becoming stressful for you.
Wow, this is really good information and advice. Thank you. Keep it coming!

More than likely, it will hit more towards the end of the planning. More towards when the wedding is. That’s just because you feel like you forgot something, maybe something isn’t perfect, etc. You want your day to be perfect and the closer it is, the more you feel something will go wrong. So, stress time. But if you plan things out accordingly and have everything you want ahead of time, you shouldn’t have to stress too much.

I bought three books that tell me "how to be a bride," and they also cover others’ roles: the bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, the groom, and more. Is it appropriate to inform these individuals what their traditional wedding roles are so they are not confused? How can I offer this information to my wedding party without sounding ungrateful for their assistance?

A fun and unthreatening way to let people know their duties (or what you expect of them) is to send out a newsletter detailing responsibilities and other wedding planning information. That way, no one will feel as though you’re targeting them. You’re probably right that most people will find it helpful to have responsibilities spelled out — they might not know what they’re supposed to do, and they may feel weird about asking. A newsletter is a cool way to tell them — you’ll have fun putting it together, too! Be sure to include a huge "Thank You" to everyone early in your newsletter — people generally respond better to instructions if they feel appreciated.

I am planning my wedding under three months ~ yes its crazy but i dont want to start our married lives in a huge amount of debt. What are the essential elements of a wedding that i need to include, I want to make it almost perfect and make it feel weddingish lol. My partner is too shy to do a dance (i dont mind, im uncoordinated on my feet too). I have a nice cake, photographer, bridal party, location etc. Just need to know what else Thanks

How about a TEA WEDDING RECEPTION

http://www.your-cup-of-tea.com/wedding-reception-ideas.html

1.A tea reception is an easy way to host an elegant party following your wedding ceremony. This type of reception is far less expensive than the traditional one, as it takes place earlier in the day and eliminates the expense of a full dinner-dance celebration. A tea party reception is a welcome change of pace from modern-day, extravagant wedding receptions. Some ideas for a classy wedding tea reception follow.

Venue:—

2.Host the wedding tea reception in a setting that fits the elegance of the tea party concept. A historical mansion, a romantic bed and breakfast or a garden park are all appropriate options or a Japanese Garden.

Menu:—

3.Serve traditional tea party foods such as tea sandwiches, fruit kabobs, tea biscuits, scones and petit fours. Of course your first beverage of choice will be a variety of teas, both hot and cold, as well as lemonade and wine and/or champagne.

Centerpieces—:

4.Use teapots as centerpieces. Depending on your budget, either purchase antique teapots, or find, at a very reasonable cost, teapots at your local thrift store or garage sale. Fill each teapot "vase" with a bouquet of flowers, and tie a ribbon (in your wedding colors if you prefer) around the neck of each teapot.

Teacup Wedding Favors:—

5.As a wedding favor, give each guest a teacup. The teacups can all be the same style or individual designs. Guests can use the teacups during the reception and then take them home as practical wedding keepsakes.

Timing:——

6.A wedding tea reception would work best with an early afternoon wedding. That time of day is relaxing and simple, and you won’t be expected to serve more than the usual tea party fare.

Attire::——–

7.Ask guests to dress in high-tea attire–for women, a dress, hat and gloves; for men, a suit and tie.

I am a professional photographer and will be shooting my first wedding in August. What are some questions that I should ask the bride and groom that will help me on their wedding day to be more organized? Any of you pros also and have some sort of "checklist" that you go by for consultation? Any tips and advice on how to be better organized so that things will flow better that day?

I am a pro wedding and social photographer
Your first wedding is going to be so much fun! really. Exciting and new.
Mine went so well!
hanks to the couple too!

just go from the beginning and work your way to the end of the day.
Photograph EVERYTHING YOU SEE
ON A 8 HOURS WEDDING I SHOOT ABOUT 2000 + PHOTOS
20 GB FULL

You will find A LOT of people with cameras, http://idphotography.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/img_0027-edit.jpg That is NORMAL
When they got married give the family the chance to photograph them too. Here you can have a drink and relax for 15 minutes.

————————————
depending where you are they either marry in a church or uot doors on location (Here in central Australia, the last is very popular)

so checklist:
1. BRIDE GETTING READY:

I have been to 1 wedding im my life, i have no idea what kinds of things I need to do, and I have no exact budget, except as cheap as possible! i decided on the colors (peridot, holly and white). and i have the pary pretty much picked out, i am going to rent out the hibernian hall in Albany for that date..my uncle has conections so it shouldnt be a problem. i want to use a JOP. but i have no idea what else to plan, where to go to buy stuff, we are going to cater ourselves, imma hire a few people from the hall to serve! clearly ill want a dj not a band to keep it cheap. i have to look into flowers and cost of dresses (but i cant get my dress for a while bc i plan to loose a lot of weight first!!) i have to look into flowers. what else do i need to buy or look into. i need a very detailed list of what to do/ buy etc….. PLEASE!!! (ps wedding is in august 09, about 200 people! hopefully less!!! )
how much do caterers cost just in case…….

and how much do dj’s typically cost???

Congrats

1. Here’s the budget file I use… change the fields accordingly but first look at everything: http://www.vertex42.com/Links/go.php?url=file-weddingbudget

2. Get a Wedding planner book or just use online ones. Better yet go to a wedding show and they usually give it for free.

All details are in the book or online: http://www.blissweddings.com/wedding_planner/planners.asp

Another thing, just post ads on your local website’s craigslist for florists, photography etc and see who gives you good deals and use those prices as negotiation tool later on.

All the best
