I have 11 months until the wedding, and we basically have everything booked that needs to be booked (reception hall, photographer etc). It seems a little too early to start on some other things, but I feel like I should be doing something! Any ideas on how not to go crazy waiting? I’m too excited for the big day, I wish it were here now =)

Your next biggest task is compiling and organizing the guest list, and I suggest making two lists. The A list . . and a B list (when A list members RSVP "cannot attend").

You will make this job a lot easier by having everyone’s names and addresses ready for envelope addressing. In other words, make sure you have everyone’s name spelled correctly and that you have the correct address and zip code.
And you will also need to research how to address the "inside" envelope if you are having one. Addressing invitation envelopes takes a long time, especially if you have to stop and make telephone calls for street address help.

Here’s some other things that you can do in advance . .
Buy postage stamps
Address "Thank You" note envelopes (to people that you know that are definitely coming to your wedding and giving you a gift)
Taste test wedding cakes
Make lists (what do I need to take to the ceremony site, what do I need to take to the reception hall, what do I need for the bride’s wedding day emergency kit, what do I need to take on my honemoon)
Check you closet and bureau drawers for items that need to be discarded, it’s a good time to get rid of some things (clothes, CDs, books)
Check your closet for items that need to be purchased for your honeymoon . . a new bathing suit? cocktail dress? new luggage? sunglasses?
Do you need to obtain a passport?
Learn to cook several new recipes (make October soup month, make November Italian month, make December cookie month, etc)
Buy a "Thank You" book so you will know how to say "Thank You" in various ways for your wedding gifts (it’s a great help)
Think about, and then purchase, and then wrap your attendants’ and parents’ "Thank You" gifts (it’s much easier doing it now than a week before you wedding day.
Determine where you want to have your rehearsal dinner or "day after" brunch/breakfast
Determine who you want to invite to the rehearsal dinner or "day after" brunch (buy the invitations, address the invitations)
Have a "girls night out" or a "girls night in" (manicures, pedicures, a romantic movie, pizza, etc)

Michael & Tegan said their vows in the lovely little St Michael Church at the Abbey Museum, Toorbul. Followed by a beautiful reception held at The Centenary Lakes Function Centre, Caboolture. They selected The Historical Village, Caboolture as the site for their Photo Shoot, which set the perfect backdrop for some gorgeous and fun potraits. They have selected Peter Gabriel’s “Book Of Love” as the background music for the video. This video is a 4 minute Highlights Version, (Mini-DVD) of their Wedding DVD which runs for approx. 30mins. does anyone know a good wedding planning book for 16 year olds who just really want to plan their dream wedding? i’m not actually getting married obviously, but i’ve been thinking about it since i was five and i want it to be organized!!!!!

Hi. Your question is a good one. I am organized too so I can appreciate that you are already thinking ahead! You should, however, not be looking at Wedding planning books. You need to focus on high school. You should be looking at college catalogs and fun girl stuff. Don’t focus on a wedding at such a young age. By the time you do get married, many things will have changed. Possibly what you think is your "dream wedding" will not be that when you are engaged. Once you are engaged there is plenty of time to plan. Enjoy your teen years and your college years!

ok im getting married may 2009 but i have no idea what to do is there any good books out there that will help me out? cuz im all on my own on this so i really need the help, i have a subcription to some bridal magazines but they wont be coming in till febuary
oh and we will be haveing a some what traditional jewish wedding

Save your money! Check out your library! Thats what i did! i was able to use the money on mags and other stuff instead of the books that are overpriced!

I am getting married to an amazing man in 11 months. We are coming along great with all of our plans however the closer we are getting the more and more I am realizing that still needs to be bought, made, designed, etc. I was wondering if anyone knows where I would be able to get a free wedding planning book or organizer to help keep things together. Or if anyone just has some simple advice.

Thank you so much <3

theknot.com is a life saver!! You can enter your budget, what you’ve spent, prices, guestlists, tag favorite pictures, and so much more!! The part I love the most is how it gives me monthly updates on what I need to be doing for that month/every 2 weeks. It gives me a checklist for 6 weeks left, etc.

Preston Bailey knows how to make the most of every lifetime celebration. His books on wedding decor share lavish ideas and his floral and decorating talent are second to none. TogetherInStyle.tv host Jennifer Maring sits down with Preston to talk about some creative ways to personalize your wedding to create a sensational ceremony that guests will surely remember.

*This and five other chant wedding Alleluia verses are available for direct PDF download from http://www.cantemusdomino.net/chant-wedding-alleluias

“May the Lord send you help from the sanctuary,
and defend you out of Sion.” Psalm 20(19):3

Not seen in many (any?) Roman Catholic wedding planning booklets, this is nevertheless the Alleluia verse igned for the Missa pro sponsis (Nuptial Mass) in the 1974 Graduale Romanum, the official book of music for the Roman Rite Ordinary Form Mass.

This is an English-language adaptation of the Gregorian chant melody as found in the Graduale Romanum, set to modern notation.
