Buying a camcorder without knowing the proper terminology is like going into your wedding with having your vows memorized â?? youâ??ll get through it, but it probably isnâ??t going to end well.
With that in mind, we present the following indispensable guide to the lexicon of the camcorder. Â This information will help demystify the many features available, thus helping you make a more informed purchase decision.
8MM â?? Smaller than most video formats, 8MM tape offers better quality than VHS recording, but not as good as digital formats.
Auto Focus - A feature that allows you to point at an object and have the camera automatically adjust to provide the clearest image of that target.
Backlight Control â?? A setting that increases aperture when there is a strong light source behind the subject â?? thus insuring that they will not be underexposed.
Compact VHS â?? Smaller than standard VHS, this format is not used much these days. Â The resolution of a Compact VHS tape is the same as a standard VHS.
Digital 8 â?? A higher resolution format that uses digital technology. Â Features resolution 20% higher than high-8 or VHS-C formats.
DVD Camcorder â?? This unique technology allows the user to shoot digital moving images which can then be burned on to a DVD that is already in the camera. Â The resulting DVD can be taken directly to a PC for editing or DVD player for viewing.
LUX Scale â?? Measures the amount of illumination in a specific area. Â An outdoor shot on a sunny day will be around 10,000 LUX, while an indoor shot will be between 1,000 and 2,000 LUX depending upon the amount of white light in the room.
MiniDV - Â This digital format offers outstanding audio and video quality. Â Tapes are small and can be played back using the camcorder and simple AV cables.
Night Shot â?? A new technology new to consumer camcorders that allows the individual to shoot images without any available light source. Â The image generated will have a green, â??militaryâ? tint to it when viewed.
Photo Mode â?? Many digital camcorders allow you to use the device as a still camera. Â Photo Mode is the selection on the camcorder that switches over to this feature.
Picture Noise â?? Low image quality or grainy footage as a result of poor lighting.
Refurbished â?? Some camcorders purchased online are refurbished. This refers to the process of reselling a used camcorder with replacement parts inside. Â Most refurbished electronics work like new, but may not be covered under manufacturerâ??s warranty.
VHS â?? The oldest camcorder type currently in use. Â Large VHS tapes were once the industry standard and can be taken directly from the camcorder and played in a standard VHS video tape player.
Wipe â?? A transition in which one image is moved off of the screen and replaced by another. Â Used in editing to create a more professional look for the finished movie.
Zoom â?? The ability of the camcorder to create the illusion of bringing the subject closer or further away from the camera. Â More advanced camcorders have more powerful zoom capability.

Your guide to Invitation etiquette:
Addressing the Wedding Invitations
The wedding invitation envelope should have the title and the inviteeâ??s name and address printed or Penned. You can compose the invitation to be formal or casual. When sending formal wedding invitations to a married couple, the title Mr. and Mrs. should be used before the full name of the husband. Even if they are close relatives, donâ??t forget your correctness. You should not address them with your relation to them or a nickname. Terms like aunt and uncle are inappropriate for use on formal wedding invitations.
When inviting a couple along with their children on the wedding invitation the title and full name of their parents then the first names of their kids could be included below. The envelope however should only be addressed to the parents. It is appropriate to state only the first names of the children on wedding invitations but please donâ??t use the reference â??and familyâ??.Â
You should be polite when inviting single guests. When sending a wedding invitation to a single female, you should use the title Miss before her name. When inviting a single male use Mr. and then their name. If you want the person to bring the guest of their choice, you can add â??and Guestâ?? after their name.Â
When inviting professional guests, who are a Doctor, Judge, or in the Armed forces; you must state their proper title on the wedding invitation and envelope.Â
What is the wedding invitation etiquette for our dress code?
Dress code should be included in the body of the wedding invitation.  Even if you have no preference to your guests dress, please include the dress code in the invitation or you will receive lots of phone calls with the question.
Is it etiquette to ask for money instead of gifts?
Today it is very common to ask for money instead of gifts; however how you ask for it is where etiquette is important. You may use a wishing well but please donâ??t include anything about gifts in the body of the invitation. Place your wishing well on the back of the invitation or on a separate insert.
We have registered a Wedding Gift List but don’t know how to let our friends know. Is it okay to enclose a card in the wedding invitation?
You may enclose a card in your wedding invitation, or have the details printed on the back. Please do not include these details in the body of the invitation, as this is really bad etiquette.
My parents are divorced, and my father has remarried. Whose names go on the wedding invitations?
This is a tricky one and needs to be discussed with both parties to avoid offence. If your parents agree, list both names on the invitation. If they don’t want their names to appear together, the name of whoever is hosting and / or necessarily paying for - the wedding should be on the invitation.
Can I include a poem or verse with the wedding invitation?
Certainly, it may go in the body of the wedding invitation if it is only 2-3 lines maximum. It is important not to make your invitation text cluttered. If the poem or verse is longer it will need to go on the back or inside cover of the invitation or even on a separate insert.
How do I work out the RSVP date?
Response deadlines should be no later than two weeks before the special day, or the date your caterer needs a final count. If after two weeks you haven’t heard from some people, phone calls can be made to those who have not replied. RSVP cards included with your wedding invitation are a great way to make sure your guests reply quickly.Â

Many people want to create the classic wedding, with long wedding dress, beautiful veil and, of course, classic and elegant wedding invitations. With the number of styles available in wedding invitations today, it can be hard to decide on what exactly a classic invitation looks like.
When you choose the paper, ink and other details of your wedding invitations, try not to get so caught up in what is traditional that you bypass your own personal taste. While these guidelines provide you with some information on choosing simple and elegant wedding invitations, let your taste guide your final decision. If you want bold colors or see a motif you want to add to your invitations, you should do so. The wedding invitation is more than an invitation for your guests; it is a lasting keepsake of your wedding.
Paper choice
For the couple that wishes to send out classic wedding invitations, the most common types of paper to use are cotton, linen and parchment. All of these choices fall into the classic style. Cotton is a casual choice, while linen is slightly more formal. However, the most formal choice of these papers is parchment.
What color paper should you choose for the wedding invitation? Let your personal preference ultimately guide your decision, but white, ivory and crème are all popular choices. These colors help to create a classic looking invitation which is easy to read and strikes the recipient as very elegant.
Ink choice
The color of the ink is another choice to be made when deciding on the look of a classic wedding invitation? If you want a simple but still very elegant choice, you will probably not integrate your main wedding theme colors into the invitation. Stick with black, dark gray or, for the formal wedding, a metallic.
Add-ins
The individual items which are included in a simple and classic wedding invitation are very important as well? A response, or RSVP, card is an absolute must. This will (hopefully) help your friends and family share their response to your invitation in a timely fashion. The RSVP card should come with a stamped envelope that has the return address already printed on it. Also include a reception card if you like as well as directions if necessary. What to leave out? Any mention of where the bride is registered. While it has become much more common in recent years to include information on registration information, the traditional advice is still the same. The guests can contact the mother of the bride or a member of the bridal party for registration information; this is typically not included in a wedding invitation.
When ordering your invitations, you may choose some other additions as well. First, decide how the seating arrangement will be handled at the reception. For a classic, sit down dinner, place cards that coordinate with the invitation are a nice touch. To add an additional touch of elegance to the reception, create menu cards for each table, which can also be sent along with the invitations. Finally, if you are expecting guests from out of town, you can print accommodations cards for them, with hotel information, to include in the invitations.
Customizing the classic invitation
Many couples who choose a classic invitation want to personalize it in some way so that it matches the character of the couple and the wedding. There are a variety of ways to personalize a wedding invitation while still maintaining a simple and elegant look.
Font style. The wide variety of fonts available can seem overwhelming. To maintain an elegant look, stick with a clean font without an abundance of curlicues. Some elegant font styles include Copperplate and Miss Le Gatees.
Liner colors. Choose an envelope lining color that coordinated with your wedding colors without being to bold. A solid color presents a more elegant picture than stripes or patterns.
Envelope decorations. For the simple and classic envelope decoration, steer clear of a motif, such as hearts or a church. A simple monogram is perfectly acceptable.
No matter how simple you decide to go when choosing your invitations, it is important to let your personality shine through. Your wedding is the first opportunity that you and your fiancé will have to share your joint personality to your family and friends. You should not be so concerned about your wedding theme that you step away from ideas that you love. It is possible to have classic and elegant wedding invitations that sparkle with personality as well. Investing a bit of time to choose the perfect invitations is time which is very well spent. Invitations and wedding favors are two important items which your friends and family, along with your future spouse, can use to remember all of the special moments of your wedding day.

With the seemingly unending ways to customize wedding invitations, it can be difficult to decide what you want. By looking at some of the popular choices, you can see what others have done, and decide if those styles are ones which would suit your taste.
Popular styles
If you are interested in a classic look, you may choose a single panel card. The invitation information is printed on the front. Some people choose to accent these invitations with an organza bow in a complimentary color. A classic wedding invitation is timeless, and is sure not to draw much criticism, but it will also not stand out very much.
Choosing a contemporary wedding invitation opens up many design options for the bride and groom. Many contemporary invitations are in nontraditional shapes. They may be long and narrow or square. They often open up rather than having all of the information printed on the front panel. Furthermore, contemporary wedding invitations can be in bright fun colors, such as turquoise, red and green. Striped invitations are also common, and very pleasant to the eye.
For the couple who considers religion an important part of their life together, and a focal point for their wedding, a religious themed card can make a wonderful choice. Many of the religious cards feature a bible, church scene or other religious drawing as part of the design of the card.
The couple who cannot control themselves and want to share their love with the world may choose one of the many heart invitations which are available. Wedding invitations decorated with hearts are available in whimsical designs as well as more traditional patterns. This can extend to the overall theme of the event, such as a beach wedding. A perfect wedding invitation for this occasion would be an invitation showing a beach scene with two hearts made from seashells in the sand.
Many couples choose an invitation decorated with flowers for their wedding. Floral invitations are a beautiful and subtle way to show your romantic side. Flowers can be incorporated into a wedding invitation in many ways, such as in a floral border or as a backdrop for the inscription on the invitation itself.
Popular paper choices
The choice of paper for your invitations can seem daunting. Cotton, linen, parchment, are all common selections. Fortunately some invitations are only available in certain types of paper, narrowing your choices. Another thing to keep in mind is that a casual wedding often uses recycled paper or cotton paper, while a more formal wedding may use linen or parchment. Vellum paper, which is opaque, gives a romantic feel to your invitations. Deckle edged paper makes the paper look like it was hand torn.
Popular inks
For the traditionalist, black or dark gray ink is one of the most common choices. Some brides choose to integrate their wedding colors into the invitation by using one of the colors as the ink color. Formal weddings often call for a metallic ink, such as silver, gold or copper. Regardless of what color you choose, make sure that it coordinated with the color of your paper, and is easy to read.
Popular add-ins
What are the most common additions to the invitation? In everything but the most casual, open church type of wedding a response card will be included. If you include a response, or RSVP, card in the invitation, you should also include a self addressed envelope with postage included. The return address is traditionally printed on the envelopes by the printer. This is different than the invitation envelopes, which are traditionally addressed by hand.
If you are having guests from out of town, you may want to add accommodations cards. These cards, typically printed on the multi-use cards that match your invitations, provide out of town guests with information on where they can stay while they are in town for your wedding. You can provide the names of several hotels as well as contact information, or, if you have made arrangements for a special rate at a specific hotel, the name of that hotel, and what they should do to receive the special rate.
You may also want to include a reception card in your invitations. The reception card provides information about where the reception is held and at what time. This is helpful for those who may not make it to the ceremony but would like to join you later.
While these are some popular ideas for what many people choose for their invitations, it is not an inclusive guide. Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and you should let your own desires guide your choices. If you want to make your own invitations, use nontraditional colors or styles or do anything else that others may not do, that is your choice. Your invitations are a chance to express your and your fiancé’s personalities. They will also be a keepsake for years to come.

First and foremost, hire a professional photographer. A professional will be competent, experienced and well equipped. They are trained, talented, and able to handle the fast pace and stress that is involved with md wedding photography. The abilities to move quickly, problem solve, and think on their feet are invaluable.
A professional will have years of experience not only in dealing with the technical aspects of Maryland weddings photography such as lighting and equipment, but also in posing, working well with people, and knowing the flow of events that will rapidly unfold. They have experience in dealing with problems and are capable of handling them. Their experience enables them to work well not only with the bridal party and family members but also with the clergy and other wedding service professionals that you have hired for your md wedding. You will be able to relax and enjoy your day with the confidence that everything will run smoothly and all of your important memories will be captured for you.
The most important thing to look for when hiring your photographer should be that you absolutely like their work and style. Photographer Photography is a very emotional and visual medium. You should not hire someone out of desperation or only for price point. Just like you know when you find that perfect wedding dress, you will know when you find the photographer suited to you. You should be very comfortable with them. Talent, skills and style come with experience. You need to personally view work samples and albums. Check to see if they have a weddings website online and if so, check it out. Make sure that the work that you see displayed, whether it is on a website or from viewing weddings sample albums, was done by the photographer that you are speaking to and that if you hire the company, you will get the photographer whose work you saw and want. That last statement is very important. You donâ??t want to fall in love with the style of a particular photographer only to have a different one from the same company show up to photograph your Maryland wedding. Equally important is that you are comfortable with them and confident in their abilities to provide you with what you are seeking. Good MD Weddings Photographers get along well with people and will make others comfortable. It will show in your Maryland wedding photographs. They are creative, well mannered, appropriately dressed for the occasion, courteous, and respectful. Their personality should be warm and friendly, never arrogant or demeaning.
At first it may seem like an impossible task to find the md weddings photographer that is right for you. One of the best weddings resources at your disposal is to ask your friends, family members and co-workers for their advice and referrals. They can provide some of the best information to you from their past experiences and observations. Bridal shops, local wedding service vendors, and wedding related businesses can often guide you and be great sources to help you. Any professional will tell you that the best advertising they have is “word of mouth” advertising. When they do a good job and clients are satisfied, the word spreads. Their reputation is built upon their work and past dealings with clients. It is this reputation and cumulative experience that becomes their greatest asset for future business. Many professional photographers will advertise in your local yellow pages and phone books. Often Wedding information website is also listed within these display ads. You can then visit their website to see if you like their work before calling them. This is also a handy way to check work style if you are out of town and/or state and planning your MD wedding long distance.

(I asked this a while ago…but only got 3 answers, so I’m trying again. If you’ve already answered my earlier one, just ignore this!)
[In the case of a man claiming that his bride was not a virgin...]
"If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death." See Deuteronomy 22:13-21
1. Not all females are born with hymens. (It is normal and not uncommon.)
2. Engaging in sports, horseback riding, and other non-sexual activities can tear the hymen–enlarging the hole–and not even be aware of it.

Why am I asking?
Where is the "Biblical inerrancy" in this?
Don’t know. In Biblical times you would need at least two or three witnesses in order to convict someone. So hopefully it would have been a rare occurance:
"One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established."–(Deuteronomy 19:15).
"At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death."–(Deuteronomy 17:6).
"(compare Leviticus 5:1, which refers to evidence either seen or known; also Exodus 22:13, which speaks of some physical evidence as witness)."
What are Elevator Shoes?
Elevator shoes are also known as height increasing shoes, lift shoes or shoe lift shoes. They are specially designed to invisibly increase the height of the wearer. The basic idea is to put thick insoles (lifts) in the shoes, so that the wearer can get taller. (See â??Inside Elevator Shoesâ? for more information.) Elevator shoes look normal from outside. Well designed elevator shoes are as comfortable as normal shoes. It may take several days for wears to get used to it. Normally, elevator shoes increase 2.5-4 inches in height. There are 5 inches extra-height elevator shoes, but it will loose comfort and is more noticeable.
History of Elevator Shoes
You may raise the question â??Who invented elevator shoes?â? Elevator shoes history can be chased back to early 1500s when cowboy boots came out in Spain. Since 1700s, menâ??s footwear with Cuban heel became popular along with a brief resurgence in higher-heeled shoes for men.[1]
In modern life, people are more concerned about health. People with flatfoot feel uncomfortable when they wear normal shoes. Some of them try to put soft insoles inside shoes to make to more comfortable. Also, orthopaedic doctors sometimes recommend use thick insoles to help patient increase height. Later on, this kind of thick soft insoles became a shared secret within a particular group of people. Shoes manufactures started to design special shoes with thick insoles and keep the normal look and comfort. They call it â??Elevator Shoesâ? or â??Height Increasing Shoesâ?.
In the past, elevator shoes are only for men but in late 1990s, womenâ??s elevator shoes came out. Although women can wear high-heel shoes or platform shoes to increase height, some women donâ??t want to show people they wear high-heel shoes. Womenâ??s elevator shoes usually come with flat, low or middle heels with a thick insole.
Inside Elevator Shoes
It seems simple to put thick insoles inside shoes but itâ??s not that easy to keep the shoes comfortable and look normal. All the components of the shoes need to be re-designed to achieve this goal.
A pair of elevator shoes consists four parts:

Upper

Insole

Mid-insole

Outer-soles
Upper
The upper needs to be designed to accommodate the thick insole. There is more slope between the face and the post. Also, the post curve is higher than normal shoes.
Insole
This is the magic part to increase height. It can be made from plastic, cork, or foam. The front part is lower than the back part. There are different designs in the slope and curve to fit different feet.
Mid-insole
Because insole is usually made with soft and expensive material, it is easy to be worn out. The mid-sole provide some level of buffer between insole and outer-soles. It prevents the deterioration of your insole and provides aeration.
Outer-soles
The outer-insole helps keep the wearer from feeling uncomfortable and allows a natural instep. The natural rubber heels can be replaced by an ordinary heel.
Although the components of elevator shoes are different from normal shoes, it looks just the same when they are assembled.
It is noteworthy that elevator shoes and shoe lifts are different. Shoe lifts are separate thick insoles that can be inserted into any shoes. The disadvantages of lifts are that they need to be replaced every few months (due to hygienic reasons), they may be uncomfortable, and the larger-sized lifts may not fit in smaller shoes.[2]
Who is Suitable to Wear Elevator Shoes?
As we all know, there is no effective way for adult to naturally grow taller. Elevator shoes are designed for people who want to be taller effectively. They are for both men and women, though womenâ??s elevator shoes are not popular. Also, if you are flatfoot, you should give it a try because most people with flatfoot feel more comfortable when wearing elevator shoes.
You can choose elevator shoes for long term wear or just for a special occasion. Some people choose to wear elevator shoes for long term because they get used to it and they like the feeling of being taller. In some occasions such as wedding, it is important for a man to be taller, especially taller than â??herâ?. People choose elevator shoes in these situations. Most people feel normal when they wearing elevator shoes but to other people, the wearer looks taller and more confident.
Who are Wearing Elevator Shoes?
You may not notice, but actually many people around us wear elevator shoes including some famous men. For example, French President Nicholas Sarkozy, famous movie star Tom Cruise and famous venture capitalist Aviv Nevo. Over 1,000,000 elevator shoes are sold every year!
