I am seeking some advice on my colors in the wedding. My wedding will be October
2010 and my colors are Chocolate, Dark red(kinda like the fruit, strawberry) and Ivory. I have already purchased
the book w/pen, pillow, flower basket in ivory. I am thinking about getting a
dark red wedding gown and chocolate/ivory bridesmaid dresses. Also I was
thinking about putting Dark red and Chocolate petals lightly spread over the
ivory table clothes around the candles, the same petals the flower girl will be
tossing. The has white/ivory flower arrangements for the ceremony already provided
by the arch and also same flowers in the arch.
Do you think those colors will look good together?
Would you use just ivory flowers for the bride and bridesmaid with those colors?
Should the groom and groomsmen be in black or ivory?
Any other ideas that I can consider?
Do you know of any where I can find a red brides gown?(if you have any websites
are pictures please send and also for chocolate bridesmaid dresses)
Any information will be a HUGE help!!
Here are pictures of the hall, the bridal gown(might see if I can get it alittle darker like a strawberry fruit) that I picked so far and
bridesmaid dresses. (If you know of any other dresses that I might like please
send.. Im kinda plain, but I love different) Thanks for your help and time!!

cloths* & The hall has white/ivory flower arrangements* (sorry for the typos up top LOL….
I also want to add.. Please understand I am not overreacting or rushing anything with the wedding. I am just looking for answer to coordinate my colors and get advice before I do start puchasing things for the wedding. The only reason I have bought the few things I meantioned above is a long story due to money invested in a bridal shop towards a wedding I was not standing in anymore and could not get my money back just an in-store trade.. Also on that note, I do know it is never too early to start planning or buying things for your wedding esp. when you and your fiance is paying for the entire wedding..Its so much easier to buy as you go then all at once b/c nothing is cheap these days!!
Wow sister, breathe! You’re overreacting just a tiny bit. It’s 12 months away, yes, but give yourself a weekend off or something. Don’t think about it.
The colors look wonderful together! When in doubt, though, always go for black and white. You can add the bright colors in sparingly. Looks like you have everything figured out, though. I mean, your bridesmaid dresses match the hall? Yeah, don’t overstress. You’re on top of things.
My fiance and I just booked a Vally of Fire destination wedding with Chaples of Las Vegas. Has anyone gotten married here? If so what did you think? How was the heat? we are getting married in July. Any other information would be helpful or just let me know about your experience. Thanks!
I haven’t been to any weddings at the Valley of Fire, but I can tell you that if you’re getting married there in July, it’s going to be HOT. Probably in the 100s or 110s. Will there be a tent thing for people to sit or stand underneath? If not, be sure everyone’s wearing sunscreen. You might want to provide everyone with cold bottled water so that no one gets heatstroke. Hopefully your reception will be indoors!
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
Hey Everyone,
I’m really getting into photography and was thinking about maybe getting a couple of books to help me along. Now, I’ve looked at my local book store and on the net and find some that seemed good, but I need some real opinion on some that are good or not!
So basically if you know any great photography books you can recommend I’d be very appreciative!!
I’m looking for a book that is mostly about how to take particular shots and useful tidbits of information. Most of the books I’ve seen seem to all be about: ‘this is flash. This is a tripod. For wedding photography use a tripod and a flash’. I saw a particular book thats something like ‘photography handbook’ that seemed just what I want but seemed to be really small for the price and had lots of different volumes.
I’m kinda rambling… So anyway, if you have any good photography books (or even websites) to recommend I’d be very appreciative!
I’m kinda looking for a general purpose photography book, maybe a book on macro photography because I love that!
Thanks so much everyone!!

This one has a lot of information about color theory and a lot of basic information. I know that you might not want to bother with learning the technical aspects of photography, but it does really improve your work.
For Digital…

I used this book for my large format photography class, but it should help you understand exposure in general…
One of the major parts of getting married is letting people know that you have decided to tie the knot. Right, we are talking wedding invitations. Itâ??s a large part of the planning process and can get a bit stressful. So here are some tips to help you in your search to find the perfect wedding invitation.
A lot of couples when getting their wedding pictures taken will simply use their photographer to create their invites. This is an easy process because in a way itâ??s a one stop shopping experience. They provide you with pictures and often times will hand you a book of work which they have completed for their clients. This is nice because from there, all you will have to do is find a design and a few pictures which work for you and your fiancé and they can get started.
Some photographers will also work with other companies which they may recommend for you to talk to if they cannot provide the service for you. This is nice because you are receiving a free recommendation from someone whom you trust. You may also want to check out what is available online. Performing a few searches online will provide you with a wide variety of companies who are willing to take your pictures and place them into a template or custom designed invite.
A few things to keep in mind when shopping for your wedding invitations, aside from the price of the product, are the type of card stock you want to use, the texture youâ??d like to have, and the look and feel of the final invitation. There are a lot of designs that are available to you as a consumer, so having a good idea of what you like will assist you in finding the right match. Do you want envelops and stuffers to come in the invite? Do you have custom information youâ??d like to provide aside from the announcement? These are all things which you may want to consider as you choose a company to provide you with this service.
There are a lot of options that are available to you out there to help you create an announcement which will stun your guests. Shopping for the right company to help you should be a blast and through your research you can find the perfect invite for your wedding. Congratulations on your engagement and good luck with your search.

Of course pictures and the dates but also they usually contain details about where everything took place, who was involved, signatures of guests, what food was served, the music that was playing, etc. They can really contain any aspect of the wedding, whatever the couple getting married wants to remember and feels is significant. There is not a right or wrong way to make a memory book.
I recently got married at a five star hotel and it was awful - the whole process of dealing with the wedding with them was mistake after mistake. We had 4 different co-ordinators - (none of which were present at our wedding as we were told after they were merely a ‘point of contact’) I ended up going through the arrangements for the day the night before at 10pm as they hadn’t passed on information. They failed to book our whole wedding party in for the night before the wedding- so we couldn’t have a meal as we’d planned. They left our unbooked guests stood in their car park - we came down to the hotel to sort it out. Our evening buffet had half of what we’d paid for. The list goes on…
The hotel is making an offer of compensation tomorrow -but its difficult to put a price on our ruined memories, day etc…
How much do you think we should accept??? The whole wedding cost us £20.000- overall about £15.000 of this was at the hotel.
Hotel has admitted full responsibilty of all the mistakes- it was a combination of them not having a proper wedding co-ordinator, hosting too many weddings and we have since found out (after being on trip advisor) they regularly double book guests and have messed up other peoples weddings
Accept the maximum price they’ll give you.
My boyfriend and I wish to get married in either Cuba or the Bahamas. We want to book the wedding with everything included as well as food for 40 people. We’ve got brouchures from sandals, kuoni, thomas cook and virgin. Do you know of any other good travel agents? Got married abroad yourself? If you’ve had a good experience with a company whilst getting married abroad please let me know as much information as possible as well as the company you used. Thanks for reading x
It might work out cheaper to chose a hotel in Cuba and to liase with them directly. Food for 40 should be no problem for a good hotel. I would think that a lot of them have experience in booking these events. I would ring a few hotels or email them and find out whether they have somebody who can organise the wedding for you. Most good hotels have an event planner who will be happy to help you. The paper work might be the hardest thing to organise. You could ring the Cuban embassy in london( if there is one there) and ask them what paperwork you would need. Or is there a British embassy in Cuba, you could contact them for advice. Whatever you decide enjoy the day, it flies bye so quickly…
Hi Everyone! I was wondering if someone could give me a cute way to tell my guests that there are hotel rooms blocked at the hotel that is in front of the reception hall with all the hotel info they need. It’s a Cinderella Wedding, and the invitations are done… and I forgot about this part. I would like to just print it on ivory paper, and stick it in the envelope… but I want to word it in a cute, cinderellaish, understanding way. I was only going to give them to out of town guests, but should I put it in all envelopes just in case people want to stay? The rooms have to be booked a month before the wedding in order for the block to stay. After the month before, they are taken back. Thanks!
I think as far as making it Cinderallaish you should focus more on the look of the card (carriage or a glass slipper in the background or something) and less on the wording (as Fizzy so nicely pointed out).
Maybe mention something along the lines as:
If you’d like accommodations after attending the ball a section (don’t like block personally) of rooms has been reserved at So and So hotel……
I do like the idea of mentioning, "if reservations aren’t made by this date the room will turn back into a pumpkin."
Oh, and send them to everyone since you don’t know who might or might not want to stay.
im reading a book called THE PRICE OF A CHILD in i cant seem 2 get into it, so i figured i would look it up on the net but i cant find a good web site to get info off.
Check out Amazon.com if all your looking for is a description and reviews.
But if you’re looking for details of the book, and a chapter by chapter summary, and themes, and motifs, and all that jazz, sparknotes.com can’t be beat.
I am having a private civil ceremony for my wedding and then a small reception because i can’t afford to do the big wedding we wanted. So since I am unable to invite everyone to the reception because I am limited on occupancy, why is it considered rude to send registry info. with the invites and announcements? I am not able to have a shower (where you’re supposed to send out the info.), bachelorette party or anything else of that nature, just the reception so why is everyone being so rude and assuming that im intentionally not inviting people? there are so many options with weddings now a days and case by case scenarios but we are still going by traditional etiquette assuming we all are having the standard book wedding? there is no malice or selfishness in sending out this information out to people who are already going to ask, so why is it still considered rude to the general public? insight please?…
While I agree with the etiquette that no one is required to bring a gift, and the only gift you should expect is your guests attendance, I had a ton of people asking where we were registered, so with my invites, I slipped in a small card that had my wedding website that just said for more info, please visit our website. It has the maps, itinerary, RSVP online, and also, registry links. While it is probably considered bad etiquette to even include that with the invites, most of my guests appreciated it.
