I need something to tell me when I should be completing things by. As my date is 18 months away, I would like one that starts about this time. Something I could print too.

Thanks in advance!
Actually, I don’t know what I need. That’s why I need the checklist.

:)
I would use the Knot (theknot.com). They have a comprehensive list of things to check and complete, month by month and week by week. I believe it is printable as well. I used it for my wedding to keep myself on track.

I also used their guest list and budget tool.

I’m just getting started on making my own wedding invitations and this is what I’ve planned to include thus-far:

* "Announcement" with our names, date, place and time.

* Response Card with pre-addressed and pre-stamped envelope (This also includes dinner choices for each guest to indicate their what they’d like)

* A card with a map and directions. Here I have also stated "We have reserved a room for you at ________. To confirm you would like to stay with us please email _____________ before December 1st for information." SIDENOTE: We have reserved an entire Inn for our guests but cannot pay for everyone’s room. Once they email us I will ask them to send me a check for their room. Kinda tacky but I’m 100% sure my family and friends will understand.

Am I forgetting anything? Thanks in advance.

I believe you mean "invitation" rather than "announcement." Announcement is saying you were married, or will be married. Invitation is telling them they are welcome to join you at the event. Regardless, yes you need this.

Response card is quite normal as well.

Generally there is a reception card. "Reception (immediately) following at XYZ Hotel Ballroom" and whatever other information.

HOWEVER you are saying you already reserved a room for them? That kind of doesn’t give them the chance to say no. Not to mention that it sounds like the room has been booked and paid for by you.

I won’t tell you how wrong and potentially rude this part is - these are your family and friends and you know them better than I. I will, however, give you a better choice of wording:
"A block of rooms has been set aside at XYZ Hotel. Please call or email NUMBER or E-ADDRESS to confirm your room before December 1st.

Honestly, unless you were my very best friend or sister, (yeah, only two people who I would do this for) there’s no way in heck I’d send YOU a check or reimbursement of any kind for booking a room I never asked for. I would be horribly offended and definitely searching around for my own accommodations if yours was a "must attend" wedding (close family or friend).

I’m 2 weeks away and I really need some confirmation I’m not forgetting anything… please take the time to read!

I feel like I’m forgetting to do something now that I’m not spending every moment of spare time planning and organizing and such… it could just be the normal paranoia that I’m missing something because I’ve devoted so much time to it, but I could really use the reassurance…

Just in case I’ve covered other things and forgotten to list them I’ll add "Extra Details" as needed

THANK YOU!!
I forgot - I’m not wearing a tiara, veil, etc. and I have all other accessories picked out and purchased :)
You’re list looks quite thourough. I would recommend so you don’t forget anything to get an inexpensive organizer that will keep things in order for you. That way you make sure people get paid when they are due and you don’t forget to get something done because you have so much on your plate.

A good friend of mine used this planner and her wedding was beautiful. She is a pediatrician with her own practice, so she didn’t have much time to plan but wanted to make sure nothing was left out. So she did a lot of research online and kept it all organized with this planner. Good luck! I hope your day is a dream come true!

Whatâ??s the best way for a man to make a lasting impression on a woman? Recent consumer research shows that the answer to making a memorable impact is right under his noseâ?? through flowers. In fact, the study shows that 92% of women can remember the last time they received flowers, and 89% say receiving flowers makes them feel special.

Giving great floral gifts, however, still remains a mystery to most men. To help them out, author and TV host Rebecca Cole provides guidance on giving females flowers.

â??Flowers are a sensual gift that can express any emotion so simply â?? with just a little knowledge and a phone call to the florist.â?

Cole offers advice to guys on:

How to send just the right message to the woman in his life â?? a new girlfriend, that special someone, Mom or a good friend.

  • The New Thing. This emotion may be the most difficult for a man to express, so Cole provides style advice for the guy who wants to show his new romantic interest exactly how he feels. â??A passionate arrangement is filled with hot pinks, oranges, reds and golds. Add a thoughtful card to help communicate just the right sentiment,â? says Cole.
  • The Real Deal. Flowers are intimately â?? and internationally â?? linked with the art of romance, and for good reason says Cole. â??As relationships grow, flowers become symbols of different events and milestones in our lives together. Take note of her favorite flowers â?? the varieties at your wedding, flowers you sent her when you first started dating or the ones she buys for herself. Those will have great meaning and impact.â?
  • Leading Ladies. â??No woman â?? especially moms, grandmas and sisters â?? should live without a little TLC,â? says Cole. A fabulous flowering plant or a garden-style arrangement with greens and soft pastel hues â?? no matter what the flower â?? will send the message that you care.
  • The Gal Pal. â??Flowers that show youâ??re thinking of someone, but not in a sensual way, have anatural, just-picked feeling,â? says Cole. She advises to ask for a selection of garden-style flowers or a bright bold color palette that is fun and whimsical. A basket with a mix of flowering and green plants delivered to her door or office is also a sure fire winner.

What are the three top design styles that men can ask for with confidence:

Research shows that 96% of women like to receive flowers when theyâ??re not expecting them. â??Guys should know that they donâ??t have to wait for a special occasion to give flowers,â? Cole says. â??Make an occasion by sending flowers to the woman in your life, just because. Theyâ??ll never forget it.â?

Cole offers advice for men willing to try something trendy. She suggests these three top design styles that men can ask for with confidence:

  • Monobotanic. Arrangements featuring only one type of flower (such as all roses, tulips, lilies or iris) are in style and may even include different colors of the same flower in the vase or container.
  • Monochromatic. Pick a color, any color and stick with it! If her favorite color is pink, for example, ask your florist for a fresh bouquet of different flowers in the same color range.
  • Bunches of Texture. Ask your florist to select complementary flowers of various textures to place in bunches in an elegant glass container. This unique look has a bold, contemporary feel and will surely provide the â??wowâ? factor.
  • Need to find a florist? Check Online Florist in your area or just search on internet.
  • Donâ??t know what to say on the card? Check for Creative quotes messages for every occasion.

A Guyâ??s Checklist of Things to Remember

  • Be Spontaneous. You donâ??t have to wait for a special occasion to give flowers. In fact, most women say â??no reasonâ? is the best reason to get flowers.
  • Size Doesnâ??t Matter. Trust your florist to help you send an arrangement that is appropriate for the occasion. Bouquets both big and small can make a bold statement. Itâ??s the sentiment that makes the impact.
  • Score Big Points. Surprise her by sending a bouquet to her office, and see how much attention youâ??ll get because of the attention she got.
  • Relax. Flowers donâ??t have to mean commitment. Women know when an arrangement simply means that you care.

â??The most important thing to remember is that you simply cannot go wrong with flowers,â? said Cole. â??Your florist is there to help, but youâ??ll get all the credit.â?

There is a category of coins called bullion coins. These are high value coins. Not only do their supply is limited, they originate in special places such as shipwrecks, sunk ships found at the sea-bed, or from excavation sites where signs of some past habitation has been discovered, etc. There are people who collect such precious coins. Here we describe bullion categories based on the metals and each metal you have sub-categories.

1. Silver Bullion

Silver coins are among the best known bullion coins. They are quite popular and belong to the category of expensive collectible items. Internet has many sites selling them online along with other expensive items.

Another high priced coin popularly showcased on online websites is the silver ingot. It is believed to have been recovered froma treasure wreck such as the sunk Spanish ship, Atocha which contained treasure and artifacts; silver ingots were found among them. Another theory is that they came from some dilapidated Colorado Mines where miners had hidden them.

The officially sealed Maple Leaf silver coins, from the Royal Canadian Mint, are also fashionable among coin collectors. Then you have half dollars featuring the Walking Liberty, or a dealer roll of first strike 1994 American Eagles, besides Masterpieces from Franklin Mint.

2. Gold Bullian

For people who collect gold bullion, there are well known gold coins known as Krugerrands from South Africa. Among other popular options you have the European Gold Crowns of the period between late 1800s to early 1900s, the Canadian Maple Leaf gold coins and the American Eagle coins. You may also want to go for British sovereigns, Swiss Helveteas, or the French Roosters. These are available on Internet.

Also available online are 10-ounce Swiss gold bar, American eagle proof set and the China Gold Panda set. You can also look for gold bullion in the American Eagle, Rounds, Bars, Mixed Lots and in other categories of coins on the Internet.

3. Platinum Bullion

This is the least common form of bullion compared to the other two. Notable platinum bullion comes in Eagle sets, the French Statue of Liberty coins and Koala proofs. Recently, some safety vaults of the collapsed World Trade Center have yielded a crucible dish made from platinum bullions, an Engelhard platinum bar, and the Johnson Matthew Year of the Dragon coins.

4. Bullion as Special Gift

If you wish your bullion collection can provide thoughtful gifts for spaecial occasions like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc. for your dear ones. For example, a bullion bar can be a unique birthday gift if it features a happy birthday greetings. Likewise, say for a wedding anniversary, you may select bullion featuring the wedding year. A bride may expect 24-karat gold or silver flakes as her wedding gift from her groom.

How to buy bullion coins

Buying bullion coins can be highly expensive. Here is a check-list of what to do when buying bullion coins:

1. Decide on what type of bullion you want to buy beforehand.

2. Try finding out the preference of the person for who you want to buy and ask if he/she can accompany you for purchase.

3. Find out the delivery cost and estimate the total cost.

4. Ensure that the seller will deliver in time, particularly while ordering online.

5. Don’t make instant payments.

6. Investigate the seller’s background and his reputation.

No doubt bullion coins are expensive, but they can be used beautifully to express intimate sentiments on special occasions in one’s life. No other form of gift can do that so beautifully.

As you begin planning for your ceremony, there are several things to consider like atmosphere, vision, space, ambience, formal or traditional and so many more.   Here are some considerations to think about:

Do you want a formal church, traditional, elegant, or casual ceremony?  The size, space, and number of guests should give you an idea of how much volume you will need.  This will also help you select the right size group, and the type of instruments you may want for your ceremony.   It will also help you to determine the amount of amplification you may need.  In a cathedral, a pipe organ could sound awesome, but a string trio would be lost in that amount of space.   What are your favorite types of instruments?  Do you like strings, violins, horns, flutes or trumpets?  What genre of music do you want at your ceremony?  modern, classical, contemporary?   As you plan your ceremony, here is a checklist of items/questions to help you plan and organize the event:

Have you selected background music for the arrival before the ceremony?

Have you created the lineup with first and last names of the bridal party?

Will there be a Ring Bearer and/or Flower girl?

Will there be a Unity Candle?

Are you planning a Sand or Rose Ceremony?

Have you selected a song for the recessional?

Will the Officiate make any closing announcements (photoâ??s, reception location?)

Will there be any special music during the ceremony?

Have you decided on the seating order for the immediate family?

Have you selected a song for the seating of the mothers/grandmothers?

Will the bride be escorted by her Father? someone else?

Have you selected a song for the bridal processional?

Will anyone besides the Officiate be offering a special reading? Who?

Any special music to be performed during the ceremony?

If so, prerecorded or live?

Do you have someone designated to run sound during your ceremony?

Have you provided contact information and music selections to performers, if applicable?

Do you need ceremony sound reinforcement from your DJ or Band?

Have you created a program?

There are so many considerations to think about as you plan your wedding ceremony.   We have developed a complimentary ceremony and reception planning guide to help you through the process and personalize your ceremony for you.  It is available to anyone asks for it, and contains more than 50 pages of planning ideas for your ceremony and reception.  If you would like a copy, email us.

If you ever find yourself in the enviable position of planning for a wedding then a trip to the dentists may not to be on your checklist of things to do to make sure your big day goes off without a hitch. The list is endless enough as it is with the venue, the guests, the reception, and all the potential tiny disasters that go with them. However, whilst it might not be the first thing you think of when planning a wedding, a wedding magazine recently made it known that nearly a quarter of brides to be are including a trip to the dentists on their checklist of things to do before the big day.

The reason for this is teeth whitening, which is a form of cosmetic dentistry that improves the colour and â??whitenessâ? of teeth through a bleaching process. It is natural that brides to be want to look their best for their wedding and, alongside other goals such as losing weight and gaining a more tanned appearance, whiter teeth are becoming more and more of a factor.

Certain toothpastes rarely help with a immediate effect and it is widely accepted that drinking a lot of tea and coffee, and also smoking, will continually cause some discolouration of the teeth. Furthermore, it is accepted that aside from a scale and polish from a dental hygienist, the teeth will not have a noticeable whiteness unless you opt for professional dental teeth whitening.

The now common process of tooth whitening removes stains and discolouration through bleaching, consequently showing a large enhancement in the appearance of teeth. It has become increasingly popular as brides and the public have become more aware of the possibilities this treatment may provide. Some of the positive aspects of this non-invasive treatment include: when the procedure is carried out properly by professionals, it is straightforward. It will not cause any damage to the teeth or gums and is â?? happily for anyone considering teeth whitening who would not usually be especially fond of a trip to the dentists â?? virtually painless aside from a little sensitivity in the hours after the treatment.

There are a number of ways in which teeth can be whitened. Some dentists use lasers, which are generally quicker, but more common is the use of bleaching gel being put in a sleeve moulding to your teeth. This has the advantage of being a more gradual process, which gives greater control when it comes to the exact â??whitenessâ?? your teeth will be after the treatment.

Professional dentists have put out several words of warning:

If you choose to have your teeth whitened then to do it through a professional.

Although you can buy do-it-yourself kits from the internet and over the counter in some retail outlets, they will not be made to precisely fit your mouth, which has a unique shape. This may cause over sensitivity to your gums. They also have varying ingredients, some being unauthorised by UK standards, which may cause blistering of the mouth or worse some damage to the enamel of your teeth.

It may also be the case that your teeth are not suitable for teeth whitening, particularly if you have gum disease or crowns, and it takes a professional dentist to identify this with a thorough examination prior to the treatment.

Increasing amounts of brides are choosing smile makeovers and teeth whitening services as part of their big day check list and are finding that using the professional route on such a momentous day is the safest and most rewarding way forward to looking beautiful.

This subject is best separated into two categories: how to plan for a marriage and how to plan for a wedding ceremony. It’s well known that planning a wedding can be highly stressful, especially when a lot of money is involved, but even if it’s a relatively modest affair. There are numerous details that have to be provided and the job of a wedding planner is basically an acting project manager of a large group of people. (Sometimes in excess of hundreds of guests) Some brides are nervous enough about the occasion and prefer not to deal with the logistics of planning a large wedding event.

However, someone has to do it! At this point, the couple can delegate the authority to family members (who are usually happy to assist) or to a professional wedding planner. The advantages of the latter are many: this is an experienced professional who can guarantee that a wedding ceremony and reception will go swimmingly. Not only is a wedding planner experienced, but he or she also brings a more objective point-of-view to the affair. Often times, when you hire relatives to organize weddings, some hurt feelings or personal disappointments can appear. Hiring a wedding planner ensures that things are kept strictly professional and the event is truly a success. A wedding planner’s services do cost you, however. As much as you would like to hire a wedding planner to carry the full burden, it may not be an option for you.

If this is the case, then a personal wedding plan (made by you or relatives) can be a success; it just takes lots of preparation and clear communication between all parties involved. Start by setting aside a budget and then making an outline of all the major decisions before the wedding day. It will help to create a checklist that you can work by, a list of contact numbers, and a schedule of approximate times.

In addition to planning the wedding ceremony and reception, there are also other activities and events you must plan for. If you want to have a marriage ceremony on a certain date, then you can get married in front of the justice of the peace, where he or she will witness you sign a marriage certificate. You could even have a friend be specially appointed on a temporary basis to act as minister. You also need to give special consideration to planning a honeymoon (location as well as weather) and timing the events to comfortably coincide with a woman’s menstrual cycle. If you need help on the logistical side of planning a wedding then it may help to attend local bridal shows in down and other events of interest to a new bride. The events are also great for networking among cake makers, musicians and wedding planners.

What about the big name change? The first point of contact is the Social Security office, but most brides advise that you shouldn’t change your name until after you return from the honeymoon, since it will be easier. (Otherwise, you could run into some difficulty with passports and other legal forms giving two different names)

Last but not least if you need some practical advice on planning a wedding, honeymoon and marital future, then talk to your parents or the parents of your spouse. These experienced paramours will give you a great deal of comfort, as you know that all of these bridges have been crossed before and that you have a large support group to work with.

Planning a wedding is not easy, but with patience and preparation it can be done, professionally or even amongst family.

So he popped the question…now what?

If you’re among the nearly one million brides-to-be who received an engagement ring over the holidays, it’s time to ring in the new year by scratching the first few items off your wedding day “to do” countdown. Kick start your 2009 wedding plans now!

Here are the first three items that you must cross off your wedding planning checklist before you can accomplish anything else.

Step 1: Determine Your Budget

Your budget will determine the type of wedding you can have - from how many guests you invite, to where and when you host your wedding, right down to the specific blooms in your bouquet, so you need to start here. Sit down with everyone who is going to contribute to the wedding-day piggy bank and discuss how to logically divide the tab and arrive at a total number.

Step 2: Find a Site and Set Your Date

Remember - many reception sites book over a year in advance, so you really can’t decide on a wedding date until you have officially booked your venue with a signed contract. Find as many reception sites that meet your budget, capacity and overall style quotient as you can. Use our wedding reception site search to find venues in your area, and narrow down your list. Then schedule appointments to tour each wedding venue and meet with the manager.

Step 3: Start the Guest List

You don’t need to have the list finalized just yet, but you’ll need an estimate from both sides of the family (and yourselves) right away to avert countless planning headaches down the road.  Once you’ve talked with all financially contributing parties to determine your total wedding budget, you can estimate how many people you can afford to invite to the affair.

Now that you’ve tackled the first three steps, this complete weddings guide will walk you every step of the planning process, from setting the theme and style, to booking your vendors, to managing every detail.
