As they say it is not the gift that counts but the thought behind the gift that is more important. Give your gifts with thoughtfulness and consideration
Choosing a Unique Wedding Gift or Bridesmaid Favors,
Wedding Planning can be quite stressful. Getting the great dress and an appetizing wedding cake can be enjoyable and electrifying. But, finding unique wedding favors can be quite a test.
If you are planning a wedding you want your guests to be impressed, unique wedding favors are a requirement for that purpose! Think about using personalized wedding favors, such as a book with your name or your guests names engraved, or scrolls with a special phrase on them.
The Web is a remarkable place to look for some of the most unusual favors for your special day.
Wedding favors are momentos of your wedding for quite a few reasons. Number one reason is - traditionally wedding favors are given to demonstrate respect for guests who attend your wedding. If your guests leave their busy schedule to make time out of their day to make memories with you, you should express to them your thankfulness.
Number two reason is that wedding favors can also be used as decorations if you lay them on the tables at your reception in a fetching manner. So, they can be recycled and used for a few other functions as well saving you money in your wedding budget.
Are you stumped on what to get your bridesmaids for being in your wedding? Some brides choose to ignore the etiquette rules and not bother with the traditional bridesmaid gifts. But, it is good manners and good taste to choose something meaningful for the ladies in your wedding party. So, consider your relationship with each one and what form of gift each
girl might like. If you are really uncertain about ideas, think about deciding on the girls jewelry to wear on your wedding day. Choose something they will wear again if you want them to be really eager about the gift.
Bridal shower favors can be a marvelous way to show those who bring you bridal gifts that you care and are thankful for their graciousness.
The great way to show your bridal shower guests that you are glad is with a little personalized token or a decorative bag full of do it yourself style cookies or other edible treats.
Wedding gifts can be a pain to keep up with on your wedding day. So, before the big day arrives, designate a few people to help you with gifts. They can manage and you wont have to agonize about where your gifts are being taken.
Put some heart into your gift giving and make your gifts count even if they are inconsequential little trinkets.

How much money should you budget for an engagement diamond ring? There is no single answer to that question because everyoneâ??s situation is different. For some shoppers, $500 is the maximum they can spend and of course, there are celebrities who can and do spend millions on an engagement diamond ring. The diamond industry has set a guideline of two months salary for what to spend on the engagement ring. Interestingly, this is the guideline for the United States. In the United Kingdom, the guideline is one monthâ??s salary and in Japan, it is three months salary.
The budget that is right for the diamond shopper depends on a variety of issues and the wise shopper assesses budget considerations before making their purchase decision. In fact, carefully evaluating the budget before starting shopping will help ensure that an impulse purchase does not become a financial nightmare.
Here are some of the questions diamond shoppers should ask themselves before starting the diamond shopping process.
How much money do you have saved now and what can you expect to save before your target purchase date?
If you are going to finance part of the purchase price, where are you going to get the financing and what monthly payments can you afford? Do you have a job and is your job secure?
What other new expenses are you planning in the near future? Do you need to buy another car, how much and how soon is the wedding and honeymoon, are you planning to move to more expensive housing, do you have student loans or credit cards that need to be paid off? These major financial events often occur soon after a marriage proposal.
A key for a successful marriage is for a couple to work together in setting financial objectives and budget. However, often the engagement ring is a surprise and therefore is a big budget decision made without consulting the girlfriend.
Once the diamond shopper has determined their budget, some other considerations might influence what they actually spend on the diamond engagement ring. A man in love often has a desire to show the extent of his affection by spending more than he can really afford. While spending more money does not ensure a stronger relationship or commitment, the romantic impulse often overwhelms logic for the man who has decided on who he wants to take as his partner in life.
Pressure on the diamond budget can also result from feeling guilty if the woman has indicated that a large and therefore expensive diamond ring is important to her. If family, friends, or associates have large diamonds, there is intense peer pressure to compete on diamond size even when there might be great disparities in disposable income or age. The pressure to prove his love with a more expensive diamond than he can afford can lead to not only financial hardship but also friction in the relationship.
Once the target budget has been set, the shopping challenge is to find the best diamond that meets the diamond shopperâ??s requirements while staying within the budget. While the diamond is usually the biggest portion of the ringâ??s price, shoppers need to remember the mounting cost and applicable sales tax.
There are many ways to reduce the price of the diamond engagement ring in order to stay within the budget. Education and research can help determine the optimal combination of size, quality, beauty and convenience for just the right diamond ring. Shoppers who walk into a jewelry store and purchase based on impulse and do not do their due diligence in advance, will likely pay a high price premium and run the risk of making an expensive mistake in terms of quality and beauty.

I’ve just recently gotten engaged and now need to start planning everything and I’m lost on where to start or even what my overall budget could be. I want a larger, more formal wedding, but I don’t want to spend tons of money. I live in Iowa so there isn’t many grand places to have a reception or get married at. Any ideas?
start with some of these questions & see if you can answer them:
what is your budget?!?!
what season? then you can narrow down a date
guest list?
what kind of ceremony & reception do you want?
hometown C&R or destination wedding? (location)
who do you want as your MOH? BMs?
colors? how many do you want? (i have 3)
flowers?
menu? what is your fav. meal? what is your FI fav meal?
That’s a LOT right there. oh, and FYI, we went through ~10 places before we picked our location. GL.

I know a lot of people are creating wedding planning websites to keep their guest updated on the event. I think that people who are doing destination weddings tend to use them for travel plans, etc. Can anyone recommend a site they have used and liked? I’m not looking to build my own page from scratch, but I would rather enter in details into a template if possible. We are doing a destination wedding and would like to include the travel plans, booking info, etc. Thank you!!
Here are some, these templates are the easy to edit and manage and very affordable.
These are specifcally designed for weddings - http://www.webmaster-templates.net/category.php/wedding-templates

HTML website templates can significantly ease the burden of designing and creating websites by providing webmasters with a ready-made web layout, structure, basic graphics, and color scheme. Templates can generally be edited and customized with any HTML editor. The biggest advantage for webmasters using ready-made templates is the amount of time that can be saved. There are a number of websites that provide ready-made HTML templates. We have compiled a list of some popular sites to make the search process easier.
This article details a number of other sites that have HTML Web Templates available - http://www.small-business-software.net/html-web-templates.htm
The book is Maximum Ride: Max by James Patterson. Some examples of creativity would be:
someone who did a book called "Just Listen" made her book report in the form of an iPod.
someone who did the book "The Wedding Planner’s Daughter" made a wedding invitation.
How can I portray MY book in a creative, but relative way?
Make the design(like the plot, exposition, climax, etc.) into the form of a rollercoaster.
We’re having a DJ at our wedding and he asked us to list which songs we do not wish to be played. I’ve come up with a few songs already, but I’m curious to hear which songs made it onto your "do not play" list.
We’re getting married in June 2010 and so far on our list we have:
Donna Summer - Last Dance (This will not be our last dance song)
Macarena
Electric Slide
70’s Disco
If you are one of the many couples who became engaged between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, congratulations! And while the uncertain economy will probably not stop you from tying the knot, it may affect your wedding budget and how much is spent on your wedding dress. Here are some ideas on how to get that dream wedding dress for your big day without breaking the bank.
Set a budget. Look at all the expenses for your wedding and decide if there are some adjustments you are willing to make in certain expenses (such as food or reception hall) so that more money can be allocated for your wedding dress.
Style of wedding ceremony. Depending on the type of wedding ceremony you choose to have (traditional, informal, indoors, outdoors) you may want a wedding dress that reflects the style of the ceremony. If that ceremony is short, simple and informal, you won’t need to spend a lot of money on a couture, high-fashion wedding dress. Of course, the wedding should reflect your personal style, so choose your wedding dress and ceremony to match your style and whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Be a smart shopper. Do your research online and off-line to find the best deals in wedding attire and accessories. Researching online to find discount and affordable wedding dresses will give you an idea of what types of wedding dresses are available and price ranges. You can then take that information and look for a local bridal store that can offer comparable prices for wedding dresses as well as various deals and discounts on additional wedding products and services. Purchasing your wedding dress locally from a reputable bridal store at a good price would be the best option. You are able to try on the dress and be fitted at the store and if there were problems, you could handle them in person at the shop. If you are not able to find a bridal store to purchase your wedding dress locally, then you may want to consider ordering it from one of the many online discount and wholesale bridal stores. But remember to give yourself enough lead time when ordering your wedding dress online in the event you need to have it altered.
Remember that details add to the cost of your wedding dress. Exquisite craftsmanship in a wedding dress adds to its value and price. Things such as hand embellishments, the bustier, luxurious lining, rich fabric, detailed finishing and machine stitch work all add to the beauty and cost of a wedding dress.
Consider going vintage. If vintage is your style, you may find your dream wedding dress in a second-hand store at an affordable price. Or better yet, you may find it in a relative’s attic who would be more than willing to let you have the wedding dress for you to wear on your big day.
Rent it. Many “green” brides are starting to consider the idea of “reusing” their wedding dress by renting it instead of purchasing a gown. When you consider what you are really spending your money on (a once-in-a-lifetime dream dress) that will only be used once and then be placed somewhere in a box never to be taken out again, renting your dream wedding dress becomes more affordable.
The most important thing to remember when looking for your wedding dress is don’t compromise your style for your budget.  The key is to find a gown that fits both your budget and style preference. With a little work and planning, you can have the wedding dress of your dreams without breaking the bank.

My fiance and I just booked a Vally of Fire destination wedding with Chaples of Las Vegas. Has anyone gotten married here? If so what did you think? How was the heat? we are getting married in July. Any other information would be helpful or just let me know about your experience. Thanks!
I haven’t been to any weddings at the Valley of Fire, but I can tell you that if you’re getting married there in July, it’s going to be HOT. Probably in the 100s or 110s. Will there be a tent thing for people to sit or stand underneath? If not, be sure everyone’s wearing sunscreen. You might want to provide everyone with cold bottled water so that no one gets heatstroke. Hopefully your reception will be indoors!
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
I began to think that I’d like to keep a regimen….focus on eating better, drinking more water, being good to my skin….is/are there things that you’d like to make sure you do before your big day?
How are you preparing (minus the traditional planning) yourself for walking down the aisle?
i took very good care of my face.
i exfoliated my arms, back, neck and armpits (yes, people will see them) and applied lotion every few days.
i drank more water.
did pushups to tone my arms.
i stopped biting my nails and let them grow.
that’s all i really did that was different from my usual routine.
i think if you do too much, you will go insane.
You should be now very busy planning for your wedding. In fact, you will need to think about the budget before you plan for other items of your wedding. It will be just next to impossible for you to plan for you perfect wedding if you do not fix your budget first.
As a matter of fact, a wedding is always considered an expensive event. According to some surveys, a wedding can cost as much as USD25,000. To this end you may need to find various sources to fund your wedding . In some cases, your parents will help you to fund your wedding. Your other family members may also help to fund your event. However, you may also consider other sources of funding. To this end, one of your option is to apply for a wedding loan.
You may probably think that you can finance your wedding yourself. However, what you have to consider is that you may need to keep some cashes after your wedding. You will have to start a new life after marriage. And you may need to spend some money. As a result, you should not spend all your money on your wedding. Yet it is always wise for you to reserve some urgent cash for emergency use.
There is also another option here. You may consider paying the wedding items using your credit card. You may think this can be a better option when comparing with the option of seeking for a wedding loan. However, it is not really true. One thing you have to know is that the interest rate associated with your credit card is very high. Unless you can repay within the grace period, the interest will be a lot higher than that of a wedding loan. As a result, you should consider a wedding loan if you know that it will be quite difficult for you to repay within the grace period.
When you are seeking for your wedding loan, you have to choose the loan provider with your greatest care. You will need to ask the necessary questions before you make your final decision. You have to make sure that you know the repayment terms. Of course the most important issue you need to consider will be the interest rate. If you have a good credit score, you may be able to negotiate with the loan provider on the interest rate and repayment terms.
If you have made the decision of seeking for a wedding loan, you will need to start your research as soon as possible. In most cases, it will take a longer time to approve your wedding loan, when comparing with other kinds of personal loans. You will also need to prepare for the documents which will be need beforehand so that you can make the approval process smoother.
After you have settle your wedding, you will need to start planning your wedding. Yet, since you have already settle the most difficult in your wedding planning, you will find it a lot easier when you are planning for the other items of your wedding.
