Marriage is more than a long term relationship. And counseling for engaged couples is one of the places you first learn that. As long as you take responsibility for the effectiveness of the counseling, you may never find yourself ending this long term relationship called marriage. You can make pre-marital counseling more than something you check off your to do list, turning it into a rite of passage that helps you enter your new adult world of being married. And if this is your second or third time around the wedding vows, you can use pre-marital counseling to make this one last a lifetime!

Welcome brides, grooms, and future wedding guests I’m Harmonie Krieger your host for nuptialstv.com your video guide to planning your wedding and beyond. On this edition of Nuptialstv we will be covering tips on planning the big day.

Planning a wedding is like setting up dominoes, each decision helps you make another one. The first domino is the question, the second domino is the type of ceremony and the third domino is choosing the venue and it continues on from there.

So the question has been popped, now unto the type and location of the ceremony. Most people know the type of wedding they would like to have, but when you add another person’s dreams, aspirations and religious feelings it will require some compromise. The couple is the most important part of planning a wedding and whether it’s the parents of the bride or the groom or a wedding planner, the wishes of the couple have to be taken into account. This is especially true of the type of ceremony that the couple decides on.

Determining whether the wedding will be a religious, civil or other type of ceremony will play a part in determining the venue. Your job or the job of your wedding planner will be to contact the venue and verify all information in regards to booking it for the day in question. At bare minimum you will need confirmation on the following items so prepare a checklist:

* Contact Person?

* Location of Utilities?

* In-house staff?

* Clean-up responsibility? Yours? Theirs?

* Parking?

* Entrance?

* Dressing Room?

* Fees?

* Rehearsal availability?

* Piano? Organ?

* Rules about Photography (specifically in Churches)

You will want to confirm a booking of the venue at least three to four months ahead of time. In many cases, it’s better to settle on the venue first because much of the rest of the planning will center on this location.

Thanks for watching nuptialstv.com,you’re your host Harmonie Krieger offering Congratulations for the Groom and Best Wishes to the Bride!

Why does every Wedding checklist have… "Check requirements for blood test and marriage license in your state," and "Make appointment for physical exam"?

Are these really necessary?

It must be an American thing. We didn't have any blood test or physical.

Not sure if you should only send your registry info with Bridal shower invitations or include them with wedding invitations as well.

You do not include this information with formal invitations. However, you know your family. I included a website because many out of towners were here for a week and needed things to do and I was able to link those to my website. My registry was also on the website.

Some people email people with their registry information, which I guess I could have done since all but 2 guests had email, but the website was just as good.
